Cephalopod

Goniatites are extinct, marine animals that lived for 120 million years dying out about 180 million years ago. They are recognized by the "saddle" design of their sutures. Goniatites belong to a class of animal called cephalopods. The goniatite is a distant relative of the modern chambered nautilus. These Goniatites date from the Devonian Period (405 to 345 million years ago) and come from Morocco.
